Is a technique of transferring dyes (pigments) contained in plants to the media (for example fabric).
Historical record of this Ecoprint, when or where the first time is also unknown. But the practice of dyeing fabrics with natural dyes has been around for thousands of years, like in Egypt (5000 years ago), also in China.

Adalah teknik memindahkan zat warna (pigmen) yang terkandung dalam tumbuhan ke media (misalnya kain). Catatan sejarah mengenai Ecoprint ini, kapan atau di mana pertama kalinya juga belum diketahui. Namun praktek pewarnaan kain dengan pewarna alami sudah ada sejak ribuan tahun lalu, seperti di Mesir (5000 tahun lalu), juga di Cina.
Di pulau Jawa, pewarnaan kain dengan pewarna alami (ekstrak daun / bunga / kayu) juga sudah dilakukan sejak jaman Mataram kuno (Abad ke-8 hingga ke-10) bahkan ada kemungkinan sebelum jaman tersebut, yang disempurkan dengan teknik membatik, yakni dengan menorehkan lilin malam panas, sehingga citra yang dihasilkan tidak hanya berbentuk aslinya daun / bunga.
